Cam Cloud exists because we were tired of watching friends and clients pay for hosting that barely worked — and then wait three days for a reply when it didn't.
Who we are
Cam Cloud is a small, independent managed hosting company based just outside Cambridge. We specialise in looking after WordPress sites, Astro and static sites, and small Node applications for local businesses, charities, and a handful of agencies who’ve had enough of hand-holding their hosting provider.
We don’t run the biggest data centre in the world. We run a carefully-chosen stack on reputable providers, in front of Cloudflare’s edge network, with backups in a completely separate region — and we obsess over the bits that actually matter: uptime, restore tests, sensible configuration, and being reachable when something goes sideways.
What we believe
- Hosting should be boring. If you’re thinking about it, something’s wrong.
- Support is not a loss-leader. The engineer who replies to your email is the engineer who built the platform.
- Backups count when you restore them. We test ours. Routinely.
- No lock-in. If you ever leave, we’ll hand you a full archive and a friendly wave.

We pick technologies that have been around long enough to be trusted, and configure them as if we were going to be woken up at 3am if they broke. (Because we are.)

Reputable VPS
SSD-backed UK/EU virtual servers with dedicated CPU and RAM allocations.
Managed stacks
Nginx, PHP-FPM, MariaDB, Redis and Node — configured once, maintained forever.
Off-site backups
Encrypted, versioned and stored in a completely separate region to the primary server.
